WELCOME TO RABBI MICHELLE STERN
BETH AM SYNAGOGUE'S ACTING EDUCATION DIRECTOR
Rabbi Michelle Stern grew up on Long Island and attended Mount Holyoke College, where she studied Women’s Studies and Music. Rabbi Stern received her ordination and a Masters in Hebrew Letters from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2011 and is thrilled to begin her rabbinate with Beth Am as the Acting Education Director.
While in rabbinical school, she served congregations and Jewish schools on the East Coast as well as the US Virgin Islands. Rabbi Stern also worked as an interfaith chaplain at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where she completed a Chaplaincy Residency.
Rabbi Stern lives with her spouse, Dr. Eitan Kimchi, a medical resident at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She looks forward to building relationships, praying, learning and growing with Beth Am and the surrounding community through the religious school and social justice initiatives.
