The first four houses in this initiative are expected to be completed in October of this year. As it stands now, the houses will range from approximatly $240,000 to a little over $300,000 for the 2 Unit (multi-family) properties. In the end,at present, there will be nine houses completed.
Currently, 6 homes range from 3 bedrooms 2.5 baths to 4 bedrooms 3 baths.
Of the 3 properties that will be two-family:
- Two have an Owners Unit with 3 bedrooms 3 baths and the Apartment unit will be 1 bedroom 1 bath
- One has an Owners Unit with 3 bedrooms 3 baths and the Apartment has 2 bedrooms 2 baths
The homes will be eligible for a variety of grants and purchase incentives, including but not necessarily limited to: a CHAP historic tax credit for a ten year freeze of property taxes at pre-renovation values; a $10,000 Vacants to Values grant, and up to a $5,000 NSP2 grant. All grants are subject to approval.
