We had great weather for Harvest Fest this year!

For the first time we had great weather for the Whitelock Harvest Fest.  It was all bright and breezy, and more than 300 people came out to fill the street.

The Whitelock Community Farm Greens Cook-off and Beth Am Synagogue’s Kugel Cook-off had great entries this year, and everyone filled up on the delicious recipes.

All the Greens Cook-off winners were first timers to entering the cook-off..

Doron Kutnik took first place.  How appropriate and wonderful to have Doron return to Reservoir Hill and win first prize in the event he coordinated for three years.

John Eager Howard School 4th grader, Daniel, walked with second place using his grandmother’s secret recipe.

And Madison Avenue resident Randy Rans took third place.

First place in the kugel cook-off was taken by Dovey Kahn with a traditional dairy kugel.  Second place went to Ellie, the youngest person entering the kugel cook-off and the daughter of Rabbis Daniel and Miriam Cotzin Burg, with her peach noodle kugel.

The bike smoothies were a hit as always .

The kids had a lot to do .

New Lens collected people’s ideas about new programming in John Eager Howard Recreation Center.

Everyone listened to great music.

And the writings of west Baltimore neighbors .  Many thanks to the Baltimore Poets’ Society for organizing the showcase of West Baltimore talent.  Our neighbors have artistic depths we don’t always get to see.

Danced . . .

And just enjoyed being together .   .  .

Plus we had some very special help in the beginning and the end . . .
