Preparing the Farm's sign board for the Greens Cook Off (10/14/11)
Since Whitelock Community Farm's creation in spring 2010, one of the Farm's goals has been to promote healthy eating and neighborhood camaraderie through public cooking demonstrations and contests. As part of last Sunday's Whitelock Revival & Harvest Fest, the Farm recruited more than 20 neighborhood residents to compete in the Farm's first ever Greens Cook Off. Attendees of the Whitelock Revival & Harvest Fest sampled all the entries and then voted by secret ballot to elect the top 3 dishes in both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian categories.
