RHIC Annual Meeting on October 23, 2007
More than 135 people gathered on the veranda of the Mansion House in Druid Hill Park
More than 135 residents and RHIC supporters gathered at the Mansion House at The Maryland Zoo in Druid Hill Park to celebrate another year of People Powered Change. Click here for a copy of the program. The evening featured a keynote presentation by Marvin “Doc” Cheatham, president of the Baltimore branch of the NAACP. The music of Jazz Encounters floated out the windows and doors of the veranda while participants ate barbeque, chatted with those at the booths in the exhibit hall, and prepared to elect new members of the Board of Directors and honor many who served the community over the past year. 2007 award recipients were Frances Meekins, Michael Burke, Newington Avenue Neighbors Association, Druid Community Association, John Eager Howard Recreation Center, Upper Eutaw/Madison Neighborhood Association, SPARK, Health Neighborhoods, Inc., the Master Gardeners Association, Rebecca Feldberg of the Division of Forestry, and Joe Lazazzara. RHIC also gave outgoing City Councilman Keiffer Mitchell an award for his years of service to the community. We appreciate the ongoing support of The Maryland Zoo in being able to hold this event at the Mansion House.
