Neighbors construct the Farm's first hoop house with Parks & People funds (10/9/10)

Over the years, Parks & People Foundation has provided the funding needed to launch or maintain many Reservoir Hill greening projects, from planting trees and improving community gardens to cleaning up median strips and vacant lots. In fact, Whitelock Community Farm's first-ever grant was a Parks & People neighborhood greening grant to purchase supplies for a hoop house.

Whether you're interested in a Parks & People Neighborhood Greening Grant (up to $1,000 for any community project) or a Partnership for Parks Grants (up to $5,000 for projects on land owned by Baltimore City Department of Recreation & Parks), here is all the information you'll need to navigate the upcoming grant deadlines (courtesy of Parks & People's website):

Spring 2013 deadlines:

Letter of intent – December 28, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.Grant application – January 25, 2013 at 5:00 pm.

To be eligible for funding, all applicants are required to:

  1. Send a representative to a grant application training workshop
  2. Submit a letter of intent
  3. Participate in a consultation with a Parks & People representative before submitting an application
  4. Take part in a site visit with a Parks & People representative
  5. Submit a completed application
