When is the next homebuyers class?

Are you thinking about buying a home? Reservoir Hill Improvement Council (RHIC) can refer you to housing counseling services for first-time home buyers. At a Home Buyer Workshop, you will learn the basics of purchasing a home – everything from budgeting and affordability to mortgages and real estate contracts. After attending the workshop, schedule a one-on-one appointment with our Housing Counselor, Carl Cleary (ccleary@reservoirhill.net, 410-225-7547) to discuss the specifics of your situation. Together you can review (and improve) your credit, set financial goals, calculate your buying power, and discuss what mortgage products are right for you.

How do I borrow tools? What tools are available?

Neighbors can borrow tools for weeklong periods at no cost through our partnership with the Community Greening Resource Network (CGRN), a Parks & People program. Available tools include: sledge hammers, power drills, hoes, rakes, metal rakes, brooms, shovels, pick axes, trowels, wheelbarrows, and cultivators. Large lawn & leaf bags are also available. Residents may check out tools for no more than two weeks at a time. The tools can be signed out and picked up at the RHIC office on the “Hill” at 2001 Park Avenue.

Please call (410) 225-7547 for details on available times for pick up and drop off. You will be responsible for returning the tools to the office in good condition so other people can use them, too.
